W...W...Wow

I might be a little behind as far as the beast goes but the VW GTI W12 650 concept deserves another look.

Alright lets break the name down a bit; OK it a VW and that's not such a bad thing anymore. It's a GTI of sorts and lets be honest having a stock standard GTI would impress non the less. It has two 3.0 litre V6 engines side by side, giving the VV effect and thus 12 cylinders. Then comes the 650 which represents the amount of ponies they managed to squeeze behind the drivers and passengers seats. All in all it spells fuck fast. You get from 0 - 100 in a blistering 3.7 and can carry on like that until you hit 202Mph.

This version of the GTI is purely for dick swinging purposes or testing perhaps and unfortunately will never go into production.

Leaner Meaner F430

In 2005, Maranello unveiled the F430 Challenge, a racing version which competes in the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo series. So...obviously all of the boys on Ferrari's mailing list have been eagerly awaiting a road going version much like the 360 CS of yesteryear.

The F430 Challenge's specifications are much the same as the standard F430 only with a little lipo for extra measure. A total of 225kg have been removed and so beefing up the power to weight ration some what. Weight reduction measures include a lighter windscreen, carbon fibre intake plenum cover and a new exhaust.

The Challenge's features include a quick release steering wheel for fast exits, and centre locking wheels for quick changes. But some of its hardcore features – such as the carbon ceramic brakes, mechanical differential, track-honed suspension and dialled back electronics – should filter through to the road car.

I hope to see our boy, Lolly Jackson screaming past the cops in one of these as soon as possible. Or if not, then in the Lamborghini's Gallardo Superleggera(expect a full report soon)
