New Orleans Pictures First Hand

One of the guys on Tucker Max's Message Board known only as RRenuart is on a helicopter rescue squadron, and posted these and more pics he took while rescuing people in New Orleans.

His write up is pretty amazing as well. Drunks calling for help on roofs and trees only to tell rescuers they don't want to be rescued; Flying past an area where literally thousands of people were floating presumably dead; A family cut a hole into the roof of a house to get their overweight father (picture below) into position for the helicopter to haul him away. Only to have a near accident when the tips of the helicopter blades clipped the branches of a tree when the helicopter tilted after they pulled him in. Ultimately grounding the crew for over 16 hours waiting for repairs.

This is amazing - it really puts the devastation into perspective when you see the pics and read about his experience.
