Hummer time.

Since I have been in the US I have seen more Hummers here than I have seen Mexicans.
They are all over the place, sort of like the Ford Cortina's in Pretoria - they always grab your attention, eventhough you don't want them to.
The new Hummer H3 has been released here...



(fuel consumption claimed at 11,8 l per 100km - not bad)...

The funny thing about it is that eventhough it is produced in SA, it will not be available for sale there until next year (2007)! And the other shocking fact about it is that its starting price here in the US is about $ 29,995 (R 218,964) which is cheaper than a VW Golf 2.0 in SA. The current H2 (eventhough it would be more expensive than the H3) is selling, brand new, for a whopping R 1,589,000 in SA.
Now I know you shouldn't compare prices because of the many other factors that affect them, but I just thought you would be interested to know.
