Gibbs' Record Six Sixes Video

Well, well, well Dan van Bunge (yes, van Bunge) must be feeling like a right tosser.

I never imagined I would ever see it happen in my life time, Gibbs you are a champion my son. Six sixes in a row, imagine that.

Of course YouTube was there to cover the action.

Thanks to Nick from Slackers for finding the vid.

Burning the records book update:
  • Johnnie Walker is donating US$1,000,000 to a charity of Herschelle's choice for the six big ones he hit (thanks Nic)
  • Gibbs made history by becoming the first batsman to hit six sixes in one-day internationals.
  • Mark Boucher slammed 75 from 31 balls, and on the way notched up the fastest half-century in World Cups: he got to the mark off 21 balls
  • South Africa's total of 353 for 3 is their highest World Cup score and the best total in a 40-over match, imagine if it was a 50 over game.
  • The 18 sixes that South Africa slammed in the innings is an ODI record too, the previous best was 16.
Cricinfo has more.
